Meet the Hives
Each of our hives is distinct, with its own personality. Turtle Beach is famously temperamental and usually aggressive to our visits unless we bring syrup. On the other side of the bee yard, Little Fife is the most gentle and curious hive, always crawling up our arms and exploring our tools during inspections. We've come to know and cherish each of our hives; they feel like part of our family.
The queens of Whiskey Creek are particularly special, treated with the reverence that royalty deserves. As someone who grew up training as a competitive gymnast, I stay connected to my sport by naming each queen after an elite-level gymnast. It's my little way of combining my two favourite things.
